We used to live in Jax and have since moved away. We pined over sweet spot every time we had a cup of coffee from another roaster. We discovered we needed some beans from Jax back in our life. Then I boldly joined the 21st century and realized we could just order and ship :).
The French Press Method
Brew Guide - French Press
What you'll need:
French Press
Filter
Grinder
40 grams of your favorite Bold Bean whole bean coffee
Kettle filled with 650 gram of water
Timer

1) Heat Water
Heat your kettle to 198 to 205 degrees Fahrenheit.

2) Find Coffee
Grind your favorite Bold Bean coffee to a coarse grind, 28 on a Baratza Encore Grinder. Between 6 and 8 on a Fellow Ode Grinder.

3) Preheat French Press
Pour a bit of hot water into your French Press' brewer. Give it a swirl to preheat the glass. Discard water.

4) Distribute Grounds
Pour ground coffee into your French Press. Give the glass a little shake to distribute the bed evenly.

5) Start The Bloom
Pour 60 grams of hot water over the bed of coffee grounds. This should fill your French Press about a quarter of the way to the top. Pause your for 30 seconds and allow the grounds to bloom.

6) Brew
Add an additional 540 grams of water, or however much it takes to fill the brewer to the top. Place the lid on the brewer, pluger raised, and brew for an additional three minutes.

7) Stir and Plunge
When your three minutes of are time have passed, remove the lid to give the coffee a quick stir. Place the lid back on the brewer and gently push the lid's plunger down to press the coffee grounds to the bottom of the brewer.

8) Serve
After a total brew time of four minutes, immediately pour the coffee and enjoy!
